The court of Special Judge (SC-ST Act) Rampratap Singh in Hathras has sentenced the culprits of kidnapping and gang rape of a 16-year-old girl to 20 years each. The court has also imposed fine on the culprits. If the fine is not paid, the culprits will have to face additional imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, a person resident of Hathras Gate area of the police station had given a complaint to the Superintendent of Police. It was said in the complaint that on May 16, 2012, at around 8 pm, Kanhaiya came to her house with two motorcycles. Apart from Kanhaiya, there were two more persons on this motorcycle. Kanhaiya had already visited his place. These people coaxed and kidnapped his 16 year old daughter and took her away on a motorcycle. The incident was witnessed by the girl’s grandmother and her brother. When the noise was raised, many people gathered there. A case was registered in this case.
Police found the victim on June 18, 2012. During the investigation in this case, the names of accused Sanjay Kumar, Dinesh alias Kali, Ram Gopal and Naveen came to light. The section of gang rape was increased in this case. The police filed the charge sheet in the court. The hearing took place in the court of Special Judge (SC-ST Act) Rampratap Singh.
ADGC Dinesh Yadav examined nine witnesses on behalf of the prosecution. After hearing both the parties, the court found the accused Kanhaiyalal, Dinesh alias Kali, Ramgopal alias Gopal resident of Darkai guilty and sentenced them to 20 years of imprisonment each. The court acquitted two accused Sanjay and Naveen.
